How to Email File From PL/SQL, Shell or Perl

Hello,

I have created a PL/SQL procedure that creates an excel file and places it on a directotry on a Linux box (it uses an Oracle Directory to place the file on the Linux box).  I know need to email that excel file as an attachment, using either that same Pl/SQL procedure or by writing some Perl/Shell script on the Unix box to email the file as an attachment.  I am looking for the simplest way to do this, without the need to install any additional components on the Linux box or the Oracle server (as the system admins will not let me do this).  I'd prefer to send it from PL/SQL, but am also open to perl/shell as an option.  I've found ways to send email via all methods, but none of them let me attach a file that already exists somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks shru_0409.  I've actually already tried using that option, but I could not get it to work.  The example seems to be about creating the content on the fly and sending it as an attachment, whereas I already have the file somewhere and just want to attach it and send it with the email.
can u send your file???

so it sounds like there is no easy way to sent an attachment via pl/sql?  I can't install any java components and would prefer not to send my pl/sql code.  Can someone send my some info on how to use Perl to send an email and attach a file that is stored somewhere already?

Thanks!
