Windows Server 2008 software on Dell 2850's and Dell 1850's servers

We have four Dell 2850’s and one Dell 1850 servers running Windows 2003 software.  I want to upgrade these servers this year to Windows Server 2008.  Will Windows server 2008 run on these servers?  Or do I have to forklift these and buy all new hardware?  (I hate to do that unless I absolutely have to.  They are still in excellent functioning order.)

dariusg,

Thank you.  I am guessing there are drivers for the 1850's as well then?

Server 2008 runs perfectly on them.  I have a mix of 2008 and 2008R2 on my 2850's running since late summer.  The PERC 4e/Di (4e/Si on 1850) is native to 2008 (but not R2), so installation is a snap - you just need the video driver and OMSA (if you have a DRAC) after installation.

Keep in mind however, that they do not support hardware-assisted virtualization, so Hyper-V is not an option on these machines.
