Removed XenApp 5 Servers from domain and rejoined new domain
Hi, have joined two XenApp 5.0 servers to a new domain. Can no longer discover them when launching the management console. How do i resolve this? Do i have to use the chfarm command?
thanks
thanks
Okay using the CHFARM command removes them from the existing farm and puts them in a new farm.. Lets start off with having you log into one of the servers and launch the AMC. During the discovery process select "Local Computer" and then tell me the error that it gives you.
Also can you verify that the Citrix IMA Service is running?

Citrix doesn't play nice when removing servers from a domain to changing the servers name. If the IMA service will not start, you are most likely going to have to remove citrix and reinstall it. You can keep the same farm datastore but you will have to republish your applications.

Hi Accelera, sorry for the delay getting abck to you. I have made the mistake of not adding the local administrators group to citrix admin before removing from the domain. The only admin is therefore for an account on the old domain. Any ideas? The server netbios name has remanined unaltered. All the relevant citrix services are started. When i run discovery i get this message:
Citrix MFCOM Service did not respond as expected. Make sure that your user account is a member of this computer's Distributed COM Users group if you are connecting to a remote server. Check the version of Citrix XenApp on the computer and make sure that a compatible version of Citrix MFCOM Service is installed and running.

Just found more information that says it does not work on later versions of citrix. Sorry about that.

Problem was that i had not granted local citrix administrator rights before removing from domain
I have had this happen personally. The only remedy was to uninstall citrix xen app and reinstall it.
