Properly configuring Mail Enable do prevent SPAM
Hello,
I have a dedicated windows server running MailEnable at Godaddy.
This morning my server was used for spam and my daily relay limit was reached very early in the morning. As a consequence, relay is blocked till midnight.
I do not host any mailboxes at this server, the smtp service is only used by the existing forms hosted on this server and they are all set to authenticate.
This has happened before and I set mail enable to force users to authenticate before sending mail and as I said above, all my forms authenticate.
I dont know how, but something got through this configuration and used the server for SPAM.
I need help to look at the logs, identify how the spam took place, and reconfigure MailEnable to prevent it from happening again.
What info is necessary to troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks!
Eder
