Exchange 2003 mailbox storage limits problem
w2k3 R2 EE SP2 ( current with updates) and Exchange 2003 Standard.
having problems with mailbox storage limits.
no default system limits set. all set per user.
user1 - issue warning at 1800000 KB
user2 - issue warning at 2097150 KB
user3 - issue warning at 1400000 KB
All 3 users are well below their limits, but are getting error email message:
Your mailbox has exceeded one or more size limits set by your administrator.
Your mailbox size is xxxxxxxx KB.
Started with 1 user. then a 2nd user recd error msg, and now 3rd user.

You may want to check System Manager and make sure that the default limits did not get turned on. I have seen on a couple of occasions that setting limits in AD can cause the limits in system manager to get set to default again. Check the properties on Message Delivery, and the properties of the Mailbox store to view the default limits. Just a thought.
The setting of user specific limits overrides the global setting

It can take 2 hours to take effect, you can speed it up by restarting the Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service.
If it was longer than that I would suggest changing the limits to something else and then applying that then change it backto what it should be.
