Question about SBS 2008 Remote Workplace TS gateway?

I have a problem where the small bussiness users where created via active Directory User and Computers MMC Console rather than the gettting started SBS create users wizard. Computers where joined to the domain with the regualr windows 2003 standard fashtion, not the url connect computer.Exchange email and company web work OK . I setup a new custom TS gateway policy trying to get the remote workplace connect to computer to work right, No success yet. Does remote desktop need to be enabled on the workstations from their in ? FYI I enabled the server remote desktop and remote workplace connect to computer does not work there when regular rdp does. Any suggestions ?

There are numerous options that have to be configured including enabling remote desktop, adding users to the remote desktop users group, configuring the firewalls, PC's and users have to be in the right OUs so that group policy is applied, and using the correct method to join the PC to the domain adds them to remote web workplace.

The correct way to fix this is to remove the uers and PC accounts from the domain and re-join them. Removing the users if they are using Exchange can be a bigger task, and is not as critical. I would move the users to the correct OU, run the Add user role wizard for each user, then remove the PC's from the domain and re-join them. When removing the PC from the domain there are registry entries and a folder that needs to be removed, if present, follow TechSoEasy's instructions. They are for 2003 but the process is the same except using  http://connect instead of http://sbsname/connectcomputer when joining the domain.

I already have Exchange setup and knew your answere, I hope ssomething somthing may be done with 2008 SBS as a quick fix .What if I call Micrsosoft and open a paid support ticket, would they make me kick everybody off there workstation so I can backup data, reconnect computers and reconnect users mailboxes and restore profiles, outlook pst archives  etc.
Sorry there is no quick fix. The manuals and the pop ups suggest the correct procedures. Bypassing those breaks many of the SBS features. The http://connect wizard alone performs over 20 functions. Though the following link references SBS 2003, 2008 performs similar tasks.

You may be able to modify some attributes so that a given feature works, but you will later find other features such as Sharepoint do not.

As suggested I would not delete the users but rather move them to the correct OU and run the Add user role wizard, the rejoin the workstations. This will not affect your existing Exchange accounts and user accounts.

Can you tell me real quick haow I should disconnect the users mailbox before I detlete him from AD and use the SBS wizard.
If you delete the user you will be prompted if you want to delete the mailbox. Recreating the same user will not actually be the same user so they will not have access to that mailbox. If you wish to maintain access to the mailbox, the best method would likely be to export the users data from within Outlook to a .pst file. The recreate the user, disjoin and rejoin the PC to the domain, and then using Outlook import the contacts, calendar, mail and such from the .pst you created into the user's new mail box.
