I would like to map the users home drives using the "mapped drive" feature in GPO (Windows Server 2008) instead of the home drive feature in the account profile(in AD). Is there anyone who has or is doing it this way? If so can you please give me a pointer or two has to how to get it done properly. I would need to have the same security, privacy and features of doing from the profile tab for each user.

Hi Cyberchrisrock,

The mapped driver feature in 2008 GPO won't be helpful with the users profile it for other network drivers but not for the profile.
the best thing to do is map that using a login script

Example:

net use H: \\servername\homedirs$\%username% /home

Hope that helps
