Synonym versus Link Table

We're trying to decide how to include some tables from another SQL Server instance (and physical server) into our database.  What's the better way to do it?  Synonyms or Link Tables?

you need to anyway configure the linked server first, then you can use the sysnonym for that server (if you wish )  in your queries

A snynonym is just a pointer. A synonym must point to the linked server...it's nothing by itself, just an alias.

they are two different features (no conneection at all), you can create synonyms for any object, even an object in the linked server
