Can SQL Server 2008 Query File Server Metadata?

Is general Windows Explorer metadata (Name, Size, Date Modified, Owner, etc.) accessible to SQL Server 2008 "real time" (or there abouts)?  Would like to start archiving data and would like to query this information on various file servers.  If there's an app like FolderSizes 4.8 that has ODBC that might be an option; please advise if any.  However, it would be nice for SQL Server to link real time to that information.  Any assistance greatly appreciated!

SQL Server intend to read data not intend to read disk metadata. this is not possible. you have to go for front-end programming.

SQL Server does not have functionality to do that.  I might recommend you look into Windows PowerShell scripting, it is more suited to that type of thing.
