Using VPN on a Remote Desktop

PPMInfo used Ask the Experts™
My main PC is Windows 7 64-bit.  My workplace allows me to connect through Cisco VPN but it will not install on a 64-bit platform.  I have a laptop running Windows XP 32-bit and can successfully connect to work's VPN on it.  I can use Remote Desktop on the Win7 64-bit PC to connect to the WinXP 32-bit PC over my home wireless network, but when I connect to VPN through this, it breaks the RD session.

If I have WiFi and a wired NIC on the laptop, can VPN connect to work on one network connection and leave the other connection exposed to my local network so my desktop Win7 machine can take advantage of the laptop's VPN connection through Remote Desktop?
