Is there any documented cases/official surveys of how many people are willing to use each of these different payment services? I have a site that uses Google's Checkout exclusively...I'm getting very few sales compared to a site that sells the same products under the same name with a very similar almount of traffic that uses a custom checkout with a PayPal option.

Hello

Custom checkout is always preferred since it wont redirect customer to the third party payment gateway website for completing payment. But due to limited resource availability, sometimes it is not possible to setup custom cart, in that case solution from Paypal or google checkout is preferred. Google checkout is comparatively newer then paypal. Many people are using paypal since long so prefer to make payment via it.

Why dont you allow user to make payment by either of these two methods as per his preference ?
You can give the option of using paypal or google checkout to the user's as you see the  google checkout is growing veryfast

Thanks, but I already know the different features of the two services. I want to know how likely someone  is to click on a Google Checkout logo compared with clicking on PayPal or using a custom check-out. I'm sure there is a percentage of the population who would not use PayPal or GoogleCheckout under any circumstance. Has anyone done any surveys or research on ....I'll call it "Shopping Cart Aversion".
Google and paypal are both fairly well trusted brands.  The likelyhood of someone to click the paypal checkout link over a google checkout link is likely to have a lot to do with the fact that people are far more likely to have a paypal account already.
Dear tahota

In my knowledge, there is no statical data available for the usability comparison between Paypal and google Checkout.
