NICs not found in VMWare 3.5 ESX install

I have installed ESX 3.5 on an HP ML350 G3 with multiple cards installed but it has only found one of the six NICS. The two it has not found are (1 x 4-port PCI card and 1 x 1-port)

All the NICs are shown in the HP BIOS all present and correct and worked in Windows.

Sadly I am not proficient in Linux at all to be able to resolve this and I'm not sure if there is a GUI that would allow this in ESX other than the normal client.

What make and model are the NIC's? Have you checked the ESX Compatability list?

I havent checked the list no, but they are:
Netgear GA311 - single port Gigabit
and
Znyx ZX346Q - 4 port 10/100
Both of have had working in another Linux based box (Untangle firewall)
Those NIC's are not on the supported list which is why they are not being detected. VMWARE ESX is an operating system in itself and only has a limited number of supported devices to reduce its footprint on the OS. You will need to look at the compatability list and purchase one of the cards listed.

Is it not possible to install Linux drivers somehow?
Not that i know of personally. All the drivers for ESX are not linux drivers, they are made specifically for ESX hence the reason why for a very limited hardware support matrix.

Ok, thank you, I'll have to take them out then. Much appreciated. Andrew.
