Adobe Media Player message: "Playback Failed"

Hi,

I have a clean install of Vista business, updated with all service packs.

I also have a clean and full install of creative suite CS4.

When I choose any video for playback on the "Adobe Media Player", a "Playback Failed" message appears with the following explanation: "This media file format is invalid or not supported by Adobe Media Player"

Could anybody tell me how to fix this?

If updating my adobe creative suite would be the solution, how to I initiate this update manually?

Thanks

Did you try it with the FLV movie files?  Do you still get that error message?

A software update resolved this. Thanks.

I let the adobe software updater install all updates of installed adobe programms. It's worked afterwards.
