Fedora root password

I purchassed a new WEE PC with fedora pre-installed and as it appears I may not have root permission. Can you provide some assitance?

go to the command line and do     su

then type in the password of the user you configured the system with. Then type passwd   - and reset the password to something you can remember (but still complex).

just a friendly reminder: Do NOT work with the root account if you can avoid it... use sudo instead.
Thanks I will give it a try, but I am a Solaris admin and have been set had gone to the source which gave me the answer!
