Working with a computer that was once a company owned client on a domain, and which has been disabled in many ways. I've been able to restore a lot of functionality (such as task scheduler) by blowing away the administrator password, but even logged on as administrator in safemode or an admin account in regular mode I can't access Computer Management or Services. They reply that they lre locked down by security policies, and when I try to open Local Security Manager (from Help and Support) I'm told that I don't have rights to it. As an admin yet!! Obviolsly the techs who locked it down have tweaked a registy setting to deny access to Local Security Policy. Anyone got any idea what that might be? Machine is running XP Pro SP3.
