Hello, I am trying to use wget to grab an SWF file from this page:http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/10/travel/10places.html

This is what I am putting in:

wget .swf <http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/10/travel/10places.html>

But I get the following error:

-bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'

Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

with wget you have to provide the full path to whatever file you want to download.

I am sorry if this is an idiotic question, but how do I find out the full path to a file like swf ? thanks.

wget http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/flash/multimedia/TEMPLATES/SlideShowPromo/SlideShowPromo.swf

Worked beautifully.

But are you sure that I can't just download all the files linked to a given URL?
