Joomla 1.5 - Editing article through front-end removes it from Front Page

Hello,

I have an article that is listed on its own article layout page, but is also tagged to display on the Front Page. If this article is edited through the front-end, it removes the Front Page tag from the article. If it is edited through the administrative interface it retains its Front Page tag. Has anyone experienced this, and is there any work-around? Unfortunately the client needs to be able to update through the front-end.

Thanks for any ideas!

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I swapped out the default TinyMCE editor for the JCE Editor. It does not have a checkbox to mark an article as front page, which sounds like it might be the problem. Do you know if it possible to add this option? It seems odd to me that they would leave it out.

Thanks!
Oh, also, I'm using Joomla 1.5.
And I just switched to TinyMCE, but there is no "Front Page" check mark. Maybe that's Joomla 1.0?
Hmm that seems odd..... can you show me a screenshot of your editor? when enabled.

Try changign templates also - make sure it's not something in your template.

I have the frontpage select option available for both JCE and tinymce 3

also please try with different permissions - (are you using juga or any other addons that affect permissions) - it may not be avaiable say for author only , access
Hello,

Sure, here's a screen shot of the front-end edit with JCE. I do have JUGA installed, but this account is a Super Administrator, so it shouldn't be restricting anything. I'm using a customized version of the ja_purity template. I will try loading a different template tomorrow.

Thanks for your help!

Hmm, this appears to have been a problem with the custom template I was using, or the JUGA component. I installed a fresh copy of Joomla! and I am now able to see the publishing options. Thanks, j-b-t for helping me come to this conclusion. I'll be awarding partial answer to you, as I may not have realized what was missing without your assistance.
