How to hide "add comments" field AND how to hide date posted? (Wordpress)

Britni used Ask the Experts™
Is it possible to hide the "add comments" field on some of the pages in a wordpress site? Just some not all. Also, is it possible to hide how it says the date a post was made? I am trying to make this look like a regular website, not like a blog with dates that things are posted on.

theres an "Allow comments" checkbox on the page edit screen
If you don't want them to show ever, and not to look like a post at all, edit your theme.

In the admin area, under appearances, click editor.

It will take you to the theme editor.

Find and remove the lines that mention X number of comments, and the area where is says the post date.

Locations of These depend on the theme used, and always make a backup of your site first.
(But it will likely be in the post.php file or something similarly named.)

The quickest and safest way to to this is to find and install a theme that doesn't include the comment or date HTML code.

If you love your current theme, you can install a plugin that lets you add/edit the styles on the page (CSS) to hide those parts of the page.

Good luck!
But note that adding plugin's slow your site down, and you can use php comments to remove the line without actually removing it, that way you can turn them back on anytime.

Just put these around the area you want to comment out in your theme
