Can I print to a KX-P1150 Panasonic Dot Matrix Printer using a USB to Parallel Cable.

Or do I need to a Parallel card to the computer

Should be able to......All that bridge does is to change the type of connection from 25 pin to USB.....I have set them up before like this in the past, with little trouble..... Sometimes you have to enable legacy plug and play detection in the LPT1 port in the Device Manager, or tell it to use an interrupt, but usually not hard to do.....
It should work as dot matrix printers support a printer language, and can print simple text. This is different from cheap new GDI printers. Those usually only work with a specific USB adapter - or with none at all.

i always prefer a pci to parallel port adapter card  - i found they do work, when the usb dongles of ten don't

I have the printer working
When I change the print quality in windows  it will not change to a lesser print quality
we want it to print faster

i can only suggest :  
1- test if the printer still finctions ok on a pc with a parallel port
2-try with a pci to parallel card
Which driver are you using?

And, which application are you printing from? Is it a Windows app, or a DOS app?

Are you using the KX-P1150 driver? Go to Printers & faxes. Right-click the printer and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab. What id the model listed in the Drivers window?
