Hi,

I've got an ubuntu server running that I used to have munin running on, but when I tried to remove munin I started running into many problems.
Now I can't do any apt related work because it tried to reinstall munin with the below error..
I actually can't see a way out, is there a way I can 'reset' apt/dpkg?

Setting up munin-node (1.2.5-2ubuntu3.1) ...
Initializing new plugins..Could not open "/etc/munin/plugins" for reading: No such file or directory at /usr/sbin/munin-node-configure line 407.
Restarting munin-node.. * Munin-Node appears to be unconfigured.
invoke-rc.d: initscript munin-node, action "restart" failed.
dpkg: error processing munin-node (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 6
Errors were encountered while processing:
 munin-node
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

running apt-get install -f give me the same results.

I was wondering if there was a way to tell apt/dpkg to ignore munin or something?

If you need to definitely remove munin, try this one:

sudo dpkg --force-all -r munin

This is my problem, I can't do any dpkg or apt related tasks because of this

Andrew
sudo dpkg-reconfigure --force munin-node

even with "force"?? It's a mess.

You may try to reinstall it...

sudo apt-get install --reinstall munin-node

I managed to copy a munin-node init.d script from another server and then run the command apt-get install --reinstall munin-node and this worked fine.

Thanks!
