Reset Task Views in Outlook 2007

Hello Experts,

I was fiddling with the settings in the Tasks Views in Outlook 2007, and made some egregious mistakes in setting them up.  I couldn't figure out how to get it to view the way I wanted, so I followed some instructions to add even more views, and now it is even more messed up!

Is there a way to get back the original Outlook default Task Views?  I don't want to reinstall Outlook and lose all of my other settings; I also no longer have the previous version disc for the Outlook Upgrade version I purchased.  So, I would rather find a way to reset these to original Outlook 2007 Task views.

Thanks!

Try renaming this file:
c:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.dat
to
c:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.BAK

and see if that makes a difference.  Outlook stores a lot of preferences in that file.  You will have to change the path slightly to suit your own system.

If you close Outlook down, then wait for a couple of minutes, then click on:
Start, Run (type) outlook.exe /cleanviews
This will reset your views for all items and should undo the changes you have made to Views.

I'm sorry guys, I forgot to post my "Thank you comments".  I appreciate both of your replies, but I wanted to respond quickly, so I have not yet had a chance to try either solution.  However, I awarded the majority of the points to alanhardisty because it seems to be a clean and straightforward solution.  Neverless, I wanted to give some points to armengar as well because it is a good future reference tool to have.  Thanks to both of your fast replies!
