Outlook Delegates Slow/Unresponsive

helpdesk used Ask the Experts™

I have one user on Exchange/Outlook 2003 that is not able to add any delegates or configure delegates settings. When the user opens delegates it take around one minute to show the delegate's currently added, when I click modify or add the outlook freezes and I need to crash out of it.

The exchange server is not based in the office but at a remote site, no other users are having this issue. This also happens on more than one system, for example set up new profile on another computer for the user and same issue happens.

When user is in the same site as the exchange server this issue does not occur.

Outlook is set in Cached Mode, mailbox is rather small at 390MB, 290MB of which is in a secondary calander folder in the mailbox to save his assistants from having to pull down the full calander.

Try clearing outlook using the profile switch (outlook.exe /cleanprofile).

Failing that delete and re-create the user

Hi, thanks for the quick responce.
Using cleanprogfile makes no difference.
I'd like to see if anyone else has any other suggestions before taking the delete and recreate option. I see that as a final option if all else fails.

Delete and re-create the user is last attempt, think more advice and options should be given before this is recommended.
