This is my dillemma. I need to have a login for an internal page have the user enter their username and password. I would like to ensure that these values are the same as what they have stored in active directory. I need to authenticate as these users for SQL Server calls that are being made via the webpage so that we can track who does what.

So like i said I need to know how in C# asp.net I can accomplish this.

Thank you!

The simplest way is to set the ASP.NET application to use Forms Authentication and then use the ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider. If you use the Login control you don't have to do anything else. If you want to code your own login logic, you just need to call Membership.ValidateUser().

The following article contains step-by-step instructions for setting up the application.
