Has anyone successfully upgraded a Dell Optiplex 745 tower from a Core 2 6600@2.4Ghx to a quad core CPU, Q6850@3.0Ghz?  The Dell accessories/upgrade site doesn't even offer CPU upgrades much less one from 2 cores to 4 cores.

They are both LGA775 sockets and use the same power, so there should not be any issues with upgrading to that CPU.

QX6850?  If so that's looking for an FSB @ 1333MHz but the 745 system board can only offer 1066MHz top.

The system board is one of the following Dell# depending on when built
Dell Part# 0TY565, 0RF703, 0KW626 or 0HR330
