EMC Emailxtender Support for Mac
We are deploying EMC Emailextender in our company. We have one Mac (10.6 Snow Leopard) user with a large ( >11 GB) mailbox who needs to have his mailbox archived. I have not found any official support for Mac/Entourage 2008.
Does anyone here have experience using/deploying emailxtender with a Mac/Entourage client?
The main goal of the exercise is for the Mac user to be able to retrieve shortcutted email and its attachments.
Any and all help is appreciated.
We are running Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition (Version: 6.5.7638.1) on a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 in a cluster (active/passive) environment.
Many thanks in advance

while connected via VPN I get the following results opening archived attachments in Entourage: If I double-click on an email and try to open a PDF I get the error “Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.” I downloaded Adobe Reader and opened the attachment from the desktop; I now get this error, “Adobe Reader cannot open “attachment” because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged ( for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decoded)”.
When I try to open Word documents I get the same error whether I open it after double-clicking on the email or saving it to the desktop. “This attachment is now a shortcut and requires that you open the message first before opening the attachment” But some word documents will open normally, even without me having to double-click on the email. And I confirmed they were all archived. The same attachments open up normally on my PC as long as I double click on the email.
