Need help finding a VGA driver for a Sony PCV-RX850 desktop PC
I've had to reload my PC and I'm unable to find the VGA driver for my motherboard.  I've installed all 3 files that are available from Sony's site pertaining to my model number.  I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

is this the same driver that you're trying to install?

Is it a US bought machine?
Are you using the integrated graphics card or is this a card in the AGP slot?
For the integrated SIS chipset this *should* work

I'm using the integrated graphics.  The machine was bought in the US.

Does the SIS Graphics Controller Driver install?

CTcharger, that's not the driver that was downloaded and installed.  The link I have is http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=PCVRX850&LOC=3

MASQUERAID, it appears to install with no issues.  However, device manager shows that it isn't installed correctly.

The driver I posted should be for the same chipset as the card that's identified by the device string you posted in the original question.  It's for a different computer, but the same video card.

This utility will show you all the information about your computer.  From there you can probably find the specific driver much quicker. If you don't have the right driver this utility will help you find it.

Thanks!  I forgot to install the chipset driver.  Did this then reinstalled the video drivers and all is well.

Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.
