Restoring Gateway Computer from Recovery Partition
I have a Gateway GM5470E tower computer running Windows Vista. Vista was crashing regularly (surprise, surprise) so I backed up the data and used the Gateway OS Disc to reload Windows. Now I have Vista running properly. However, none of the software originally included w/ the computer was reinstalled. I think these are on the Recovery Partition, but I don't know how to access the Recovery Partition?
there will one Gateway recovery disc try with that one

All I have is a CD labeled "Gateway Operating System Disc", which is what I used to install Vista.
No F11 prompt on boot-up. Only F2 for Bios Setup & F10 for Boot Options.
No System Recovery option on the Start Menu.
Yes, there is a D: partition labeled Recovery Partition. But I don't know how I can boot off of it?

hold down the ALT key and repeatedly tap f10

Thanks for the link. But it recommends hitting F8, which just brings up the Windows Boot-up options (Safe Mode, etc), not an Advanced Boot Options screen as the document suggests.
you can down load system recovery software from Gateway website
# From the Windows Vista default Start menu, click All Programs, Gateway Recovery Center, and then click Gateway Recovery Center.
# In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
# In the Welcome to Gateway Recovery Center window, click Programs.
# In the Programs window, click Application recovery.
# In the Program(s) originally provided with your PC window,
select programs you want
then install
you dont have to go for complete recovery becoz u already installed vista which is working fine

No Gateway Recovery Center to be found. Searching from Start Menu for either "Recovery" or "Gateway" results in 0 hits.

No luck on that last suggestion. There were a bunch of drivers available for download, but no Recovery Software.
This seems so ridiculous that there is no easy way for me to access that recovery partition!
