ArcServe 12 Backup Failed (Error creating Virtual Device Interface: COM class not found)

We recently upgraded two of our main servers, the primary domain controller and the Sql server.   We moved ArcServe 12.0 to a new domain controller and it's working fine with everything else, including an Exchange client.   However it is crashing when it goes to back up our new SQL server.  We get two error messages.

1.  E8535 Failed to receive data from the client agent.  EC=10060, Command=0
2.  AE50015  Backup Failed (Error creating Virtual Device Interface:COM class not found)

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client and the main program.  Did not fix it. I found exactly 1 tech article on all of ArcServe's web site that said to re-register the sqlvdi.dll, which I did and that did not fix it.

Any ideas one what to try next?   Thanks!!
