well when i validate connection i get

 Cannot access the web server. The server may not be running, or the web root folder or root URL may be invalid.

You trying on Mac or so?

like even trying to connect to a local cf doesn't work
my local admin url is

http://127.0.0.2/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

so
the details i give are
Coldfusion Root dir :  C:\CFusionMX7
web root : C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot
root url : https://127.0.0.2

still get that error

no just on a windows pc

also if i want to connect to a cf server that on a different machine what values do i put in for things like web root

so do i put in the folder as it is on the machine ie
C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot

or as it is from my machine ie
\\machine_name\C$\CFusionMX7\wwwroot

well there is already a web site up and running, im just trying to get flex to work with it

the cfc arent stored in the wwwroot on the cf , they are in the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot

Whats your server?

i want to connect to a cf machine whoes cf admin page is

https://pharmasys-asp.swebtec.com/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

on the machine itself the cf is installed at
C:\CFusionMX7

and the code im trying to connect to is
E:\hosting\pharmasysASP (another driver on the machine)

what do i need to put into cf root folder ,web root/ root url to get this working
