websphere webserver root directory

Hi,
how do I find out where the webspheres root directory is. I never used websphere before, but now a project is in websphere and I need to look into css. But I cant seem to find root directory. Any help will be appreciated.

Are you trying to find the "root" directory from a deployed application?  Or what?

and by "root" directory, are you talking about the "installation root", aka "WAS_HOME"?

So, if you have the application server installed in:

D:\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer

Is that what you want?

yea but the thing is that there is not that path in my computer. I see a web application server 7 but when I click on that from program files, it opens in eclipse and coming from wamp environment its very confusing for me. How to i start or stop the database and webserver? I guess thats what I am looking for
