Unable to start SQL 2005 Surface Area Configuration

I've installed a SQL Server 2005 x64 (SP3) on a Windows Server 2008 x64 , when I try to start  SQL 2005 Surface Area Configuration i get a error as displayed in the attached screen shot

I've enabled all the protocols and the SQL browing service is also runnig, the system does not have MOSS or Share point services. But WSUS 3.0 is installed on the system

is the instance name you want to configure MICROSOFT##SSEE? Was that the original instance name at setup?

It looks like SAC can't find the instance name.  I've run into this before but in my cases I was pointing at the wrong instance name.

My SQL is installed on a default instance, and i dont have any other named instances on the server..
Experts Exchange has (a) saved my job multiple times, (b) saved me hours, days, and even weeks of work, and often (c) makes me look like a superhero! This place is MAGIC!

Can you try clicking "change computer" and putting in the IP or name of the SQL Server?

Already tried that, no luck there, still the same prob.
