MS ACCESS Missing Triedit.dll error
Hi all, We're currently running Vista in all our desktops and MS Office 2003. I tried to Google the triedit.dll error and none of the solutions took me any where. One of my users is trying to import data into MS Access and this message is popping up " This Program requires a missing Windows component" and giving this path " C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MS ACCESS.EXE"
I read something on the web, that said..Vista doesn't have this (triedit.dll) file for MS Office?? My question is.why would MS fail to provide with all the necessary files needed to run their own apps? Has somebody been able to resolve this error and if so what did they do to solve it?
I need help on this. I've read , have Googled, I've done everything and countless hrs.
Please see attached screen-shot

triedit.dll description Description
triedit.dll is a module associated with DHTML Editing Component from Microsoft Corporation.
Also important what type of file is being imported?
what's the code being used if not one of the default import types

no not "copy regsvr32"
ok first is there a copy of the file at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\triedit.dll
if so then register it using
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\triedit.dll
what are you trying to do.
1. does it work on your home computer
2. the links that i provided are the most current copies of the files. use them if there is no copies on the computer that is having the problem.

Yes..I'm getting this error on home Computer even though the files are there...( )
when I try register the " regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\triedit.dll
I'll check tomorrow on my work computer but I thought since mine have the file/files I should be able to register without any problem.
Ok. Forget registering
The problem is not triedit.dll if it is already on your computer and you are also getting the missing Windows component error.
as long as you have all of the required office products ie MS Access
"One of my users is trying to import data into MS Access "
What type of data are you trying to import
text file ... *.txt
excel... *.xls
database.. *.mdb or other?

For reason Vista does not Triedit file and you have to manually copy. That took care of the problem. thanks!
Have you tried downloading and regestering the missing dll?
http://www.dlldump.com/cgi-bin/testwrap/downloadcounts.cgi?rt=count&path=dllfiles/T/triedit.dll
dlldump is a good place to get free dll files.
the copy that looked current on my computer was loacted at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\
so copy the file there and run in regsvr32
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit\triedit.dll
there was also one other file in then triedit folder named dhtmled.ocx
not sure if this as any thing to do with your error however if adding only the dll does not fix then i would add the ocx as well same way.
from ocx dump
http://www.ocxdump.com/cgi-bin/testwrap/downloadcounts.cgi?rt=count&path=ocxfiles/D/DHTMLED.OCX
Good luck
