How to get a Quick Access Toolbar to show when using Access 2007 Runtime?

Our users run Access 2007 Runtime to run our program:

When using runtime the menus don't show up.  I created a customized toolbar (access options, customize) for sorting and filtering in the database we're using.  The users don't see any menu in forms or queries.

I need to have a user be able to sort and filter in a query.

So your custom Ribbons don't show in the Access runtime? Is that what you're saying?

Yes, that is correct. They are not visible with Runtime.  Also they are grayed out in the full Access program and not useable there either.

Are you sure you are quoting the right thing?  Custom ribbons are designed using a specialised table called UsysRibbons and is designed properly using xml calls back to the database.  This is not easy but can be very rewarding when you get it right.  The quick access toolbar which is what I think you are talking about is not available in runtime.

Designing custom filters etc is best done (IMHO) by creating a button on a custom ribbon and refreshing the table with new criteria which is not very difficult.  I tend to put all these calls in a 'Function' module that contains all my custom functions and procedures.

Hope this helps.

I'll have to look this up and see how it works.  In the old versions we could give users a custom menu / toolbar.  I'm not sure I have names right. If I can't see my way through the above, I'll just have to write a mess of queries for the users and give them buttons for the queries

Thanks,  I may not get back to this until this afternoon.  (we program went no one else has problems here.)

Microsoft took away the features I used to use.  for now I'm doing my own work around.  The solutions are workable, but have a learning curve that I don't have time for now.

It was very helpful to not be 'banging my head against the wall' trying to do something that is no longer a feature.
