SMTP Service wont start
When my exchange 2003 server restarts, I get a error message prior to login which inidicates one of the services didnt start. After further investigation, the service in question is the SMTP service. When I try and start it manually, I get the following error message
Could not start the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol on Local Computer error 1083 the executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement the server
Ive read an article on technet which related to the issue which suggested i reinstall exchange and repatched it up to sp2.
This hasn't worked, Im still unable to start the smtp service

what you should do is probably uninstall IIS and reinstall it again
