NTVDM.exe error with IBM Update express

Have restored an image of windows 2003 sp1 Server, from a IBM HS20 to a HS22 model using Acronise backup and recovery version 10 with universal restore.

Upon completing the restoral I have a working system, beside some device drivers, which are as follows.

Base System Device
System Interrupt Controller
SMS Bus controller

Not really knowing which drivers correspond with these entries in device manager I opted for Update Express, all the upates are pulled down using application however at the installation of drivers stage it fails and returns an error of NTVDM hard error.  I've had conversations with IBM regarding error and drivers and they don't appear to be able to assist.

Any ideas out there.

Have you tried to restore it again? Maybe restore was corrupt, but I seriously doubt.
You can try to install SP2 and see if that will help.
You should also consider the PATH environment variable, and any INI files that may be used. The short filename for the "c:\Program Files" directory is "c:\progra~1"
