gnutar report "Cannot stat: Invalid argument"

When I am doing daily backup using gnu tar (GNU tar) 1.21, it complaints the following on one of the file "/usr/local/bin/tar Cannot stat: Invalid argument".

What is gnutar trying to tell? Is it a problem?
