Change from Software mirroring to hardware mirroring
Hi
Would anyone know the procedure to change from software disksuite mirroring to hardware mirroring on a Solaris 10 server.

that depends on the hardware you have. are we talking about sparc or intel ? which model of server (if built in raid controller) or which raidcontroller?
ASKER
sparc will check model
A valid technique is introducing another mirror device (your hardware raid file system) into your SVM, then removing the software mirrors. You're then left with a hardware raid disk device.
ASKER
model is t5140

i found this which explains how to setup the hardware mirroring but not sure best way to remove software mirroring

can someone explain this in more details

I'm assuming you already have a mirrored filesystem. Attach your hardware raid subdisk to the mirror, wait for it to sync, remove the software raid subdisks from the mirror and you're left with a mirror comprising of one subdisk. You can choose to remove this last subdisk from the mirror and just mount the hardware raid device.
Everything you need to do this is outlined and explained in detail in this chapter.
