Dell laptop has problem connecting to an Ethernet network

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop (running Windows XP) that has a problem connecting to a network via an ethernet cable.  When I use a Verizon USB aircard, it works fine.

When I go to device manager, I see yellow question marks next to "Other devices" and "Network controller".  I suspect that this is the problem.

I think I need to install a driver, but I can't find anything appropriate in this list of drivers for the E1505:

When you reply, please don't just say, "Use the NIC driver", or "Use the ethernet driver".  Please check the list of drivers and tell me which specific driver to use from the list that's on the Dell website.

I've already tried installing a bunch of those drivers, and none of them have solved the problem.  Sorry I don't have a list of drivers I've tried, but I've been working on this problem off-and-on for a few weeks, and I haven't been keeping a list.

If the problem is not with a driver, please let me know how to proceed with troubleshooting this issue.
