SATA RAID Card that will work with ESX4i U1

I have purchased a test box to install ESX4i on and it has a built in SATA RAID controller on the motherboard. Every time i create the raid array it looks good in the bios but when i boot into esx it shows 2 different drives. Just to make sure i wasn't doing something wrong i put in a WIN7 cd and it showed 1 drive. What type of SATA RAID card should i use? The one built on the board will not work. I have looked on vmware.com but the compatibility chart is confusing to me. I need a SATA card that will do RAID 1 mirroring and work with ESX4i u1. Any suggestions ???????????
