Can I use the LIKE statement with a parameter query in Access 2007?

This query works:
PARAMETERS [Name In] Text ( 255 );
SELECT tbl_People.LastName, tbl_People.FirstName, tbl_People.MiddleName
FROM tbl_People
WHERE (((tbl_People.LastName)=[Name In]));

This does not:
PARAMETERS [Name In] Text ( 255 );
SELECT tbl_People.LastName, tbl_People.FirstName, tbl_People.MiddleName
FROM tbl_People
WHERE (((tbl_People.LastName) like "[Name In]*"));

I've tried it with both double quotes and single quotes around the parameter name in the where clause.

I've also tried without the parameter statement.  The like statement works:
SELECT tbl_People.LastName, tbl_People.FirstName, tbl_People.MiddleName
FROM tbl_People
WHERE tbl_People.LastName like "P*";

I really need to be able to use a like statement with a parameter.   Anyone know what's going on with this query?
