VMware ESXi with Wireless Card

Last Modified: 2020-10-31
Hello all

I am a student and using ESXi for my lab environemnt, Because of my setup I need to connect my Host to a wireless network in order to access my hosts remotely.

Ok, I installed ESXi 4 on a HP DL380 and it is working fine.

The Problem I am having is that I need to use a PCI Wireless Card on my Server due to my location.

I installed a Linksys WMP600N and that card was working fine when I was running Windows OS on the server.

I am pretty new to Linux-Unix flavor of OS so please dumb down your responses.

The card I am using has the RALINK chipset and I was able to download the Unix drivers for that card from them.

Now what do I need to do so that the ESXi server loads my card?
I tried to copy the drivers and use UNIX instructions on how to install the drivers but failed. Was not even able to mount the CD drive using the instructions I found on the internet since ESXi is not a full version of UNIX.

Please help, I dont want to go back to vmware 2.0 running on a windows Host.

Thank You
