as 400 certification

Last Modified: 2013-12-06

I work for a small bank which uses software from Jack Henry to track all the critical business information (account balances, loan terms, you name it). This software currently runs on an outsourced IBM AS400, System i. Recently there has been some discussion among senior management about bringing it in house. I'm absolutely positive I can learn this system frontwards and backwards. I've already scoured the redbooks publications from IBM's website for certifications on this system.

Basically I want to ensure management I can administer, secure, and maybe even facilitate the installation of this system. Which certifications do you believe would demonstrate to management that I am able to do this? Also with some of the IBM certifications, I had trouble finding the associated certification guide (i.e. 000-971 certification).

Even if you don't have an answer, I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions.
