After registering  the binaries have you reboot the server.
Yes, that would be a good idea if you have not.
Also update you server with the below mentioned VSS hotfixes:
KB940349, KB967551 and KB972623

Note: Reboot the server after installing the each hotfix.

I hope this helps,
Shree
ye shreedhar, but I wasn't sure to give him those yet because I wasn't sure of the version of server he had :-). It just says MS SBS200 SP2.

Sorry about that yes it is SBS 2003 and if you wouldnt mind giving me some more detailed steps it would help and also how to register the binaries
Since this is SBS 2003, but please follow steps 1 &2 first, then I would apply the hotfixes shreedhar mentioned above and reboot each time.
Then we can see how the vss binaries behave, under step 3. This has solved my problem in the past.
Ok I re registered the binaries and am rebooting, It already had the most up to date SP and all VSS updates were installed, I will let you know how it goes
So this appears to be working I will wait a few days and make sure it stays working and if it does I will award points then, Thanks, I forgot the reboot part after binaries, DUH.  Thansk for the help
NP, I hope it helps you, it has saved my bacon in the past.
Apply http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975928 Final Hotfix for 2003 and 2008 and reboot server
What is your status now?
Easy to the point solution
Issue has been resolved, Thanks for the help, re-registering the binaries and the reboot were the trick.  Points awarded
