Backup Strategy and mirror hard drives dual operating system

Wilf asked
Last Modified: 2012-05-09
I have a Windows 7 computer running Windows 7 Home.  I need to have the unit dual boot, because there is one program that must run on Vista or XP or something older than Windows 7.  It is a data base point of sale program that is actually a DOS program.  It is well supported, just not on Windows 7.
I need to also provide a quick and robust backup for both operating systems.
Would I be best to use something like partition majic to partition and then install the second OS?
Is it possible to mirror drives with two operating systems.
Is there a good back up product that will do both patitions
