Offline Address Book not downloading

Hi,
When users are in Cached mode, they are not able to see new users created in the GAL. When I try run a "download Address Book" I get an error

"Task Microsoft Exchange reported error ( 0x80072f0D)" :' Unknown error 0x80072f0D'

I have set the OAB to use HTTPS instead of HTTP, however this has not helped. Out of office feature is working fine.
Are there any fixes? The client will not accept a workaround......

Hi,

How long have you waited for the users to appear in the GAL?  In cached exchange mode, new users will not show immediately.  Have you tried logging in as the user via Outlook Web Access to see if the new users appear?

With regard to the error code, try the solutions suggested in this previous thread.

Thanks,

The problem is that this was working before so there should be no need to install certificates etc.....I have tried all this and still no joy.....

The users not showing in the GAl were created 3 weeks ago. In OWA the users appear as they should.....
To add, the problem is not that the users in Cached mode cant see the GAL, they can see the Local copy of the GAL, it is when a change is made to the GAL, the users in Cached mode are not getting the Updates, user in online mode are getting the update. When I try download the GAL i get the error 0x80072f0D

Hi,

Refer this article:

I hope this helps,

Hi, thanks for the response, but once again, this problm is only for the users who use Outlook 2007 cached mode. When they use Online mode the problem is not there. Also, when I delete the *.oab file from the users c:\documents and settings\User1\local settings\Microsoft\outlook folder, the offline address books actually downloads and updates when Outlook is started up again, however try to download the address book again thereafter to sych it up, the error re-occures. This is happening for all users not just one user. I have a work around to delete the *.oab files by editing the login script, however this is a work around and not a fix, the client is adiment that it is fixed and that they can use the tools\ send - recieve and download the address book when they want......any further ideas?
I dont think that this is an Autodiscover problem as the test come back fine and OOF is working.

Updated the Exchange server with latest service pack.

Also update the Outlook 2007 with latest service pack.
Currently we have SP1 for Exchange 2007, I will install SP2 and there is also a roll-up for SP2 that I will install aswell...Once done, I will update this blog.....
