Netlogon errors fiilling the system log - event ids 5805, 5723 - server 2003

Hello guys and as always thanks for your time and expertise.
The netlogon events I referenced in the system log don't seem to cause any problems, at least none I'm aware of other than annoyingly filling up my system log on the various domain controllers.  The various events reference that authentication failed (5805) and so access is denied and that the secrutiy database does not contain a trust accunt for referenced by the computer (5723).  In some cases for these various events, the computer account exists in active directory.  In other cases, the computer account does not exist.
I've been able to clear some of these logs by resetting the computer account and then disjoining and rejoining the domain.  I've read that this procedure ensures the password the computer is logging on with is the same as the password stored in active directory.  However, not sure what can be done if the computer account is not found in active directory.
Anyway, as I said, the enviornment is still windows server 2003.  I would greatly appreciate your advice, recommendations for clearing up this problem and what could be done to prevent this from happening in the future.  Thanks.
