Why can't I see my local printer in Remote Desktop Connection?
For some reason I cannot see my local printer through RDC. I checked the checkbox to enable local printer, installed the drivers on the remote machine, and can see the other local devices under printers, such as the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, but just not the actual printer.
The printer in question is an HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One.
I am connecting from Windows 7 to Server 2003, but have attempted XP to Server 2003 as well.

Is your printer turned on? Or does it have an energy save function? I've also got a similar printer in which I'm unable to detect over my network when the energy save function is on. Try turning off/on your printer.

I assume you have "Printers" checked on the local resources tab of the rdp client?
