Slow WAN connectivy.
Hi,
We are experiencing several problems with a few WAN links. People placed on those offices are reporting issues about slow Internet navigation, slow file transfers and even they are using OWA because it's totally impossible to use Outlook 2003 as they always get an error saying that The Exchange Server isn't avalibale. They're experiencing specially with Outlook and Exchange Server.
My question is that what are the requirements for Exchnage or the Global Catalog, Do we need a minimun response time to work with Exchnage?.
The number of workers on those offices goes from 7 to 20. There aren't no DNS servers nor Domain Controllers placed on those offices.
If I go to the File Server Event Viewer of one server placed in one office, I see several netlogon errors reporting a failure detenting a Domain Controller.
I've attached a ping command result.
Thank you.

Satellite connection with a 40 KBs bandwith, and it's impossible to wide that bandwith.
There is no other Internet service provider available for these remote offices? Do you work for an Antarctic research firm?

Sometimes I wonder the same question, but even we haven't GPRS connection there, it's quite sad, but it's what we have.
If I'm fair, the badnwith coulb be wider. We have and asynchronous line with up to 2 Mb download and 256 Kb of upload, but the provider only guarantee us the 2% of the bandwith.
My question is that, Could we have Internet connectio, Outlook and File Transfer with such a poor line?.
Thank you.

Hello JorgeSimarroVillar,
You may test RemoteApp : http://technet.microsoft.com/fr-fr/library/cc731340(WS.10).aspx
Put the terminal server 2008 on the same network as domain controler and the exchange server.
Regards.

I don't think that TS si going to be enough to solve the problem, The users on that offices are having problems even when they go to change their passwords, "no domain controller is available for the domain?.
I also get timeouts when using nslookup for the domain and SRV records.
Thank you.

I had simular issues with an site to site VPN tunnel between 2 cisco asa 5505's
Configuring the (HP Procurve) ports attached to the cisco as a 100Mbit full instead of Auto-Negotiation solved my problem....
