Windows 7 machine can't print to XP-shared printer

Though the system appears to configure properly, I can't print from a wireless laptop (Win7) to a shared printer on an XP machine. When a print job is sent from the laptop, the (XP) print server catches the job ('0' briefly changes to a '1' under 'printers and faxes') but nothing prints.

Computer #1 (print server):
Windows XP SP3 Dell Dimension connected via CAT5 to a Belkin router with a shared HP OfficeJet K80xi connected via USB and contains the latest drivers available. From this machine we can print just fine.

Computer #2 (wireless laptop):
Dell Inspiron running Windows 7.
In attempting to configure this setup, I used the "Add Printer" - "Network Printer" and after a brief network scan, the XP-shared HP Printer is found and connects properly, however nothing ever prints. I also tried to set this printer up as a local printer with a created port based on the IP address, but that didn't work either because HP doesn't have a Windows 7 driver available for download (they say Windows 7 has a built-in driver for it... which it does. FWIW I plugged the printer directly into the laptop and it automatically found and configured the hardware. When plugged in directly it prints, scans, faxes, etc. just fine.

Any ideas on how I may successfully share this printer so my customer can print wirelessly from his laptop?
