Outlook Error:0x80042109

I forgot that I was connected to my VPN and accidentally opened my Outlook email.  I received ERROR:0x80042109 smtp. [Normally I would just check my email via web mail]

I just disconnected  my VPN and started Outlook to see if everything is ok.  I can send email but cant receive email.  Every time I send an email - error:0x80042109 smtp.

Any Ideas?
I searched for ERROR:0x80042109 smtp here at EE but still haven't found a solution.  Should I just create a new profile?

Sorry I forgot to mention, I connect to an exchange server.  I double checked the settings and they are correct.  Still same error
If you are on Exchange, delete the account profile and remake it. This assumes of course that all the mail is properly and securely on the server. ... Thinkpads_User
